Qualification Requirements
- Minimum Age Requirements:
- All drivers must be 23 years old at time of hire or lease.
- CDL:
- Must have a valid CDL Class A. No Permits Accepted.
- Driving Record (MVR):
- No DUI convictions within the past 5 years.
- No drug related convictions EVER.
- No serious traffic violations within the last 5 years (careless, reckless, unsafe lane change, speeding 15 or greater, hit & run, or following too close).
- No CDL/License suspensions within the last 3 years.
- No more than 4 moving violations within the last 36 months, no more than 2 in the previous 12 months
- Accidents:
- No major chargeable accidents within the last 12 months (example no head-on, rear-end, roll-over, hit & run, failed to report, ran off road, leaving the scene of an accident or any DOT reportable).
- No more than 3 chargeable minor accidents/incidents within the last 3 years.
- Minimum Verifiable Experience:
- 2 Year O.T.R. tractor/trailer experience within the past 3 years. Local experience does not qualify as part of 2 year minimum experience.
- Criminal Convitions:
- No felony convictions.
- No misdemeanor convictions for theft, assault, sex crimes or drug convictions (Violators cannot enter Canada).
- Character:
- Must have good references from past employers.
- Must not have been fired or disqualified for: assault, drug or alcohol violations, unsatisfactory safety record for theft.
- Experience for a driver who drove for an independent contractor CANNOT be verified by the independent contractor, verification must come from the carrier they were leased to.
- DOT Physical & Drug Screen:
- Drivers must meet minimum D.O.T. physical requirements.
- Autumn Transport Inc. will accept physicals for applicants who have at least 12 months remaining on the physical expiration date.
- Less than 12 months remaining will require a new physical.
- No 90 day physicals will be accepted.
- If applicants meet these requirements they must bring their DOT physical form and medical card to orientation.
- All new drivers’ must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test. Failure to supply an adequate testing sample is automatic disqualification.
- Any applicant who tests positive on a pre-employment drug screen will NOT be leased on and he/she will be responsible to find their own transportation back home.
